23e03 is a curved, transformable screen carved with swirling forms derived from the cloud-like imagery of monster transformations in video games. The work also draws on Leonardo da Vinci’s studies of vortices, bringing together contemporary digital imagery and Renaissance investigations of natural movement. Carved into a flexible, curved surface, these references become unstable as the screen changes shape and the image shifts with it. The work explores how visual forms migrate across popular culture, art history, and material space, transforming as they move between different systems of representation.
