In The Air

In the Air consists of three suspended Damaged Drawings installed above a staircase. Rather than functioning as conventional drawings, the works are created through scraping, carving, and cutting directly into architectural panels. On their monument-like black surfaces, luminous lines and figures emerge from darkness as traces of transformation. Viewed from below, the installation presents a constellation of floating bodies and hybrid creatures—bird-headed figures, exposed skeletons, and human forms suspended between weightlessness and descent. Drawing on mythical beings and the visual language of cave paintings, the work brings together bodily vulnerability, flight, and states of transformation. The suspended images are encountered through movement, shifting between visual fragments and spatial presences.
