任瀚，1984年出生在天津，现生活工作于巴黎。2006年，他于天津美术学院油画系获得学士学位。2011年，他于法国阿尔松别墅国立高等艺术学院艺术系获得硕士学位。他曾经在巴黎、里昂、松户参与艺术驻留。
任瀚出生的年份恰巧是乔治奥威尔反乌托邦小说的标题《1984》，他的成长经历伴随着中国城市化井喷式发展和互联网在全球的迅速普及。他将神话、自然和数字图像整合到作品当中，利用素描、装置和场域特定作品展开一系列基于泛互联网时代视觉文化消费的研究和反思。他曾说：“我质疑人类在欲望驱使下不断建构和破坏的意义”，而他的工作正是对这个世界的一种西西弗斯神话式回应。
他的作品曾在巴黎钱币博物馆，Centquatre艺术中心，国际艺术城；里昂新中法大学博物馆；尼斯亚洲艺术博物馆；厦门集美·阿尔勒国际摄影季；北京今日美术馆，时代美术馆，泰康空间；南京艺术学院美术馆；西安OCAT；莫斯科现代艺术博物馆等机构展出。并在巴黎、里昂、柏林、北京举办过个展。2024年他受UCCA Lab之邀为始祖鸟ARC’TERYX制作大型场域特定装置。
Ren Han, born in 1984 in Tianjin, currently lives and works in Paris. In 2006, he received a bachelor’s degree from the Oil Painting Department of Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts. In 2011, he earned a master’s degree in Art from the École Nationale Supérieure d’Arts de Villa Arson in Nice. He has participated in art residencies in Paris, Lyon, and Matsudo.
Born in the year coinciding with the title of George Orwell’s dystopian novel “1984,” Ren Han’s formative years unfolded amidst the explosive urbanization in China and the rapid global proliferation of the internet. He incorporates images from mythology, nature, and the digital realm into his works, leading a series of research and reflections on the consumption of visual culture in the Internet age, using techniques such as drawing, installations, and site-specific works. He once said, “I question the meaning of humans continually constructing and deconstructing under the impetus of desire,” and his work is a Sisyphean response to the world.
His works have been exhibited at institutions such as the Monnaie de Paris; Centquatre, Paris; Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris; Nouvel Institut Franco-Chinois, Lyon; Asian Art Museum, Nice; Jimei x Arles International Photo Festival, Xiamen; Today Art Museum, Beijing; Times Museum, Beijing; Taikang Space, Beijing; Nanjing Art Academy Art Museum; OCAT, Xi’an; Moscow Museum of Modern Art, etc. He has also held solo exhibitions in Paris, Lyon, Berlin, and Beijing. In 2024, he was invited by UCCA Lab to create a large-scale site-specific installation for ARC’TERYX.

En 2011, il a obtenu un master en art (DNSEP) à l’École Nationale Supérieure d’Arts de Nice – Villa Arson. Il a participé à des résidences d’artiste à Paris, Lyon et Matsudo.
Ren Han est né l’année du titre du roman dystopique de George Orwell “1984”. Ses années de formation ont coïncidé avec l’urbanisation explosive de la Chine et la rapide prolifération mondiale d’Internet. Il intègre des images de mythologie, de nature et numériques dans son travail, utilisant le dessin, l’installation et des œuvres in-situ pour mener une série de recherches et de réflexions sur la consommation de la culture visuelle à l’ère de l’Internet. Il a dit : “Je remets en question le sens de la construction et de la destruction continues des êtres humains entraînées par le désir”, et son travail est une réponse sisyphéenne au monde.
